Dishwasher Restart
/in News/by kpenneyCOVID-19
DISHWASHER RESTART
We are living in uncertain and trying times. Everything has changed. From the way we shop to the way we work. At Jackson, we know these times have been especially challenging for foodservice operations. Over the next few weeks, businesses are re-opening, getting back to (the new) normal. Whether you have operated at less-than-normal capacity, or had to place your kitchen on hold for a short time, you need to know the proper steps to re-open your foodservice operation, including your dish room. When your dishwasher hasn’t been used or has been used less frequently than normal, it requires a proper restart for the safety of your guests and your employees. We can help!
- Begin by disinfecting and sanitizing dish room, including handles, switches, faucets, and of course, your dishwasher.
- A thorough deliming will help to eliminate any scale or foodsoil that may be present. Instructions for deliming can be found on the Operation Guide for your model. Search for your model here on our website.
- Ensure that all exhaust fans/hoods are running properly.
- Ensure that all chemical dispensers are working properly.
If you find that you need the assistance of a service technician, you can find your local Jackson ASA here.
For information regarding your entire foodservice operation startup, the National Restaurant Association has put together a great resource that can be found here.

Jackson Combines Energy Recovery with its RackStar® Conveyor
/in News/by kpenneyJackson Warewashing Systems introduces the RackStar High-Temperature Single-Tank Rack Conveyor with Energy Recovery. Rated at only 0.35 gallons per rack, it is one of the lowest water consumption machines available in its product class. The Energy Recovery System captures exhaust heat that is repurposed to heat the incoming cold water. Ground temperature water passes through the heat exchanger which uses this “free” heat to elevate the temperature of the water to 110°F before it enters the 27kW booster heater. This process reduces overall energy consumption and saves thousands of dollars versus non-energy recovery models with higher water consumption. Available in 44” and 66” (22” pre-wash added) models.
In addition to the Energy Recovery technology, RackStar comes loaded with features to provide outstanding results, ease of operation and lasting performance. Self-Cleaning Wash Arms, Adjustable Rainbow Rinse™, Energy Guard™ and Digital LED Control Panel are just a few of the features that make the RackStar a great performer in the dishroom.
Outstanding results begin with wash action delivered by twelve specially designed, labor saving, self-cleaning wash arms with non-clogging nozzles. Wash water powered by a three horsepower pump motor effectively removes the foodsoil for Clean the First Time® performance. The exclusive Rainbow Rinse arms have an arched design to provide superior rinse action. With the Adjustable Rinse System, the operator can select the Econo Rinse which uses only 0.35 gallons per rack and is suitable for normal operations or Turbo Rinse which uses 0.52 gallons per rack and is ideal for heavier soiled loads.
Operation is simple thanks to the fully-automatic start and auto-fill. Pressing the Power button initiates the automatic fill of the wash tank and the tank heat brings the wash water to the proper temperature. When a dishrack enters the machine our Energy Guard™ system starts the Dual Pawl drive system and activates the wash pump. As the rack conveys through the machine the Energy Guard system activates the rinse once when the rack reaches the rinse area. This reduces the use of fresh rinse water and rinse aid chemical. An easy to read digital control panel is located on the front of the machine and features LED for greater visibility. The controls provide the operator with Status of the Machine (Wash, Rinse Cycle, Delime, etc), the temperature of the water and the selected rinse cycle.

DynaStar®: Low Water Consumption Meets Ventless & Energy Recovery
/in News/by kpenneyJackson Warewashing Systems introduces the DynaStar High Temperature Door-Type Dishmachine with Ventless Installation and Energy Recovery. Rated at only 0.69 gallons per rack, it is the lowest water consumption machine available in its product class. Designed with Energy Recovery in mind, the heat exchanger is integrated into the main body of the machine, maintaining a low profile and better heat control. The unique, two-pass Energy Recovery System collects the water vapor inside the machine and uses it to preheat the incoming rinse water before it goes to the booster heater. The design only requires a cold water connection, eliminates the need for a ventilation hood, and results in first-year savings of up to $4,655.

The Conserver XL-E is a chemical sanitizing dishmachine that reduces demand for hot water, saving on utility bills and reducing operating costs.
The dump and fill design of the Conserver XL-E disposes of dirty water, replacing it with a fresh water rinse every cycle. The self-draining stainless steel pump eliminates soil/detergent carryover between wash and rinse cycles. The internal sump saves space and provides a more aesthetic appeal to the dishmachine. Built-in chemical pumps come standard and a low product indicator light alerts the user whenever the machine runs out of chemical products.
TempStar® Dishmachines now Available with Ventless and Energy Recovery
/in News/by kpenneyJackson Warewashing Systems introduces the addition of Ventless and Energy Recovery technology for their TempStar Door-Type Dishmachines. The Ventless feature allows for operation without the installation of a hood over the dishmachine. Steam or water vapor is extracted from the machine and condensed to heat the incoming rinse water. Elimination of the hood and related utilities along with the efficiency of the energy recovery unit combines to save the operator ,655 the first year and ,155 every year after.
The high efficiency energy recovery unit allows the Ventless TempStar to operate on a single cold water connection, making installation a snap. Most competitive units require both hot and cold water connections. The Ventless and Energy Recovery option is available for both the TempStar (18” chamber height) and the TempStar HH (27” chamber height).
